Our Roots

It all started when Founder & CEO Taima Beyah was faced with the loss of her mother, Karen Jo Koonan. Taima, a human resources and operations executive, took bereavement leave. When Taima returned to work after a few months, she found that her mind, heart, and body rejected the transactional nature of the work. Remaining passionate about mission-driven work, she was no longer willing to participate in institutionalized structures that failed to promote workplace wellness and alignment.

Taima cataloged her deep professional and life experiences, including 15+ years of consulting. She reflected on her mother’s life and legacy as a freedom fighter, renowned jury expert, and legal worker pioneer. She remembered one of her mother’s many mantras: Be kind. Be generous. Do something to make the world a better place. Taima realized that she was faced with a valuable, bold opportunity to do just that, and Humanity at Work Consulting emerged.

Humanity at Work Consulting represents authenticity, transformation, and inspiration. We empower individuals and organizations through genuine connections and innovative practices. Our solutions seek to bring out the best in humans, fostering professional environments where everyone can thrive, and purpose and passion lead to meaningful success.
